The last of the snow remains in the driveway this afternoon, but I’m sure it will be gone by morning. Very sad to see the snow go. This was the best winter ever, with more snow than I could have ever expected. I hope for many more winters like that.
I’m sure we’ll see some more snow in April – there’s always one last winter blast which makes for great photos with the trees green again and flowers beginning to bloom.

A small glimpse into the inventory of White Squirrel Books – just one shelf of books. These aren’t that new, and some need taken out of inventory since their value has plummeted. Currently we have about 1,700 books in inventory and new ones are being added on a daily basis! I’ll post some more shots of the inventory and operation as the months progress. Yes, I love books.

My good qualities, or my bad qualities? I wonder exactly what the fortune cookie writer meant by this. Things that make you go….hmmm…..

Woohoo! Outside, in the bright sunlight! My legs felt good enough to drive out to Hendersonville this morning so I snapped this quick shot of the back entrance to the Blue Ridge Mall with my iPhone. I need to be bringing my Canon with me more often, but for a phone, this takes a pretty good image.
My legs still hurt, but nothing like they felt a few days ago. Hopefully I’ll be outside more often for my daily photo.

Money!
Today’s Friday, so for many, that means payday. So, while I’m still in the indoors-mode, I figured a photo of some cash might be appropriate. This cash, however, is marked. If you end up with money that looks like this, please do go to www.wheresgeorge.com and log it! I started doing that in 2005 and gave up pretty quickly, but recently decided to try again. Basically one writes/stamps the money with the Where’s George website and goes to the website and types in the serial number. Then you spend the money like normal. If someone comes across the $1 or $5 or $100 bill you stamped, they will hopefully go to the site and enter the serial number and where they found the money. You can then watch your money travel the country!
Ok, it’s not a glamorous hobby, but it takes very little time, and it’s kinda fun. You can watch my progress, if you are feeling extra-stalker-like: My Profile.
Fun for the whole family!

Shadow wonders why I’m not following him so quickly up the stairs. Well, walking up and down the stairs is something I am not doing well right now. I kinda hobble down them. Going up is ok, but going down hurts a lot. But at least I can move! The hip and legs really hurt, but I think they hurt less than yesterday. I am hoping things will feel better Friday and I can take some shots outside for a change!

My view of the day – the ceiling fan. Yes, a very boring view, but one that was my main focus as I laid in bed waiting for the pain to lesson. Hopefully I’ll be on my feet more tomorrow and can actually walk normally.

Pain, pain, pain. Today it snowed. It beautifully snowed. However, orders needed to be shipped, so with boxes in a backpack, I walked to the local post office. I’ve done it before, but not as it was snowing. I really enjoyed the walk there, even with the last 3 miles having to walk with snow blowing in my face [it is a 6-mile trip, one way].
However, on the way back I slipped several times, and even fell once. A small bruise on my hip, but many, many pulled muscles later, I finally arrived home. Thankfully about a mile from home a neighbor in a 4×4 truck drove by me on his way home from work and gave me a lift. But for the rest of the day, I was all about pain relief and laying down. In fact this first photo was taken 3 minutes before midnight! And this other photo was taken on the walk to the post office but due to the amount of snow coming down, it was the only time I took out my iPhone to snap any pictures. I’m lucky the phone dried off well!

The storm begins.
March has been, for the past several years, my least favorite month. In fact, to be honest, I hate March. I don’t use the word “hate” very often, but it definitely fits here. March also means that Spring is coming. As a cold-weather lover, Spring is my least favorite season as it means the next 6 months will bring warmer weather.
However, with that said, I felt March would be the perfect time to start this project. What better way to focus on the joy of photography while attempting to focus less on the frustration of March. So while this project may have a stormy beginning, I am hopeful that brighter days are ahead.
