Money!

Today’s Friday, so for many, that means payday. So, while I’m still in the indoors-mode, I figured a photo of some cash might be appropriate. This cash, however, is marked. If you end up with money that looks like this, please do go to www.wheresgeorge.com and log it! I started doing that in 2005 and gave up pretty quickly, but recently decided to try again. Basically one writes/stamps the money with the Where’s George website and goes to the website and types in the serial number. Then you spend the money like normal. If someone comes across the $1 or $5 or $100 bill you stamped, they will hopefully go to the site and enter the serial number and where they found the money. You can then watch your money travel the country!

Ok, it’s not a glamorous hobby, but it takes very little time, and it’s kinda fun. You can watch my progress, if you are feeling extra-stalker-like: My Profile.

Fun for the whole family!

OH snap. It’s all black and white except for the red bit. Look at you all busting out the photoshop skills!

Hahah! Thanks, Whitney! Believe it or not, no Photoshop was used in the making of this image. I use a photo management tool, Aperture [by Apple, only for Macs, sorry :( ] to organize my images. It also has some incredible adjustment tools one can apply to a photo. With the brand new version that just came out, one can apply a Photoshop-like brush, so even though I normally would have edited this photo in Photoshop [been using it for nearly 20 years!], in this case I kept it all in Aperture to see if it could be done.

Aperture is no Photoshop [it lacks many of the effects PS has and is missing non-destructive editing and the all-important layers feature!], but it is neat that one can do this kind of editing in Aperture.

Very cool! I think I will upgrade to the thinner stamp. It looks so much neater!
